Beautiful and elegant designs are synonymous with this unique brand. Earrings are made from a combination of fabric, beads, freshwater pearls and delicate silver-plated fittings. Colours are mainly pastels and neutrals, embodying a definite timelessness and grace.
Made from embroidered and crocheted lace in a myriad of colours, White Rabbit Days’ jewellery articulates vintage charm throughout all designs. This uber-feminine range makes use of classic fabrics shaped into simple as well as more elaborate Baroque-style designs with a flowing floral and teardrop formation. These have all the glamour of big-drop earrings without the accompanied weight.
Aesthetic earring designs are fluid and versatile in their conception and can be teamed with wool, tulle and pearls for an iconic yet chic modern look. There is an evidently French flair in these designs and they work perfectly with soft pink, dove grey and nude-coloured items. These are best worn with sheer tights and tweed suits for a sophisticated and corporate day look. In addition, don these delightful drops with elongated silhouettes, crocheted snoods and bejewelled berets. Alternatively, combine a glossy black skirt, feather light blazer and a nude blouse for a smart evening silhouette.
As the name suggests, White Rabbit Days embraces a combination of nostalgia and freedom together with its timeless flair. Items from the range can be paradoxically dubbed as modernised vintage couture or new vintage – a combination of that which is classic with a touch of contemporary.
Cape Town designer, Helen Andrews, who is the drive behind these exquisite jewelled creations, says that “the concept [of White Rabbit Days] began as a way to explore new cities - you chase the signs, follow the white rabbit and see where it takes you. You never know what treasures you’ll find, who you’ll meet and where you’ll end up.” Andrews says that the white rabbit that is always on the move (alluding to the rabbit from Alice in Wonderland) is an analogy for her designs. “I take bits and pieces, mix them together, take them apart, add and take away bits until I’m left with something beautiful.” Her constant search for new ideas and inspiration is how White Rabbit Days was born.
Andrews’ extraordinary creativity led her to begin designing and crafting jewellery 10 years ago. She describes her work as highly unique, delicate, ‘lacy-licious’ designs, perfect for a special occasion or a bespoke gift. Dress these up for down for the ultimate elegant touch to your wardrobe.
